How the Teams Direct App works

To create a communication channel between MS Teams and Zendesk Tickets, we have developed an application that is simple to set up and also easy to use.You can not only send messages from Zendesk to MS Teams, but also answer directly from MS Teams to Zendesk.

No 3rd party tool is needed to create the connection, all you need is our Teams Direct App.

Overview

The Teams Direct App creates a communication channel between MS Teams and Zendesk. You will find the application in the ticket sidebar, where you can send messages to your Teams groups, answers will be shown in the ticket as internal notes. Attachments in tickets can be sent as links to MS Teams. The usage can be restricted to certain groups.

설치 방법

  1. Open Zendesk -> Settings -> Fields

  2. Create a new Checkbox Field (this will be used to detect an answer from Teams with a specific tag e.g. msteams_answered)

  3. Copy the field id

  4. Open Zendesk -> Settings -> Zendesk Support Apps -> Teams Direct

  5. Paste the field id to "answerField"

  6. Now you have the ability to create a trigger to listen on the tag. Example: “Ticket update + Tag msteams_answered is set, then remove the tag and set the Ticket back to open”

  7. Open the Teams-Channel you would like to connect

  8. Add a new App “Incoming-Webhook”

  9. Copy the URL

  10. Open Zendesk->Settings->Zendesk Support Apps->Teams Direct Paste the Channelname + URL in the according JSON format in “channelConfiguration” . Example: [{"Channelname1": "URL1", {"Channelname2": "URL2"},{"Channelname3": "URL3"}]
