Box is a cloud native collaboration and content management application that simplifies how people store, find, and share information. It helps people to collaborate effectively by having secure access to documents and information that they require to make business decisions. The Zendesk and Box integration enables customers to store and manage documents on Box in the context of a Zendesk ticket. The content in the Box adheres to the Zendesk ticket security and permissions while allowing agents seamless access to related attachments. Agents can upload, download, view, sort the documents by size, upload date etc. Any uploads to Box are tracked in the ticket comments. Agents can preview and annotate the ticket attachments in Box using Box Preview without having to download the attachments.

설치 방법

  • Log into your Zendesk account and navigate to Admin.
    1. Locate the Marketplace under Apps, look for Box Integration by Reva Solutions App then click Install.

    2. Enter the Box credentials to finish the installation.

  • Box Credentials Instructions: Step 1: Login into Box and open the Dev Console.

Step 2: Click the Create New App button to create a new application.

Step 3: Choose Custom App for the app type.

Step 4: Put it in any name, description and purpose, and click Next.

Step 5: Make sure Server Authentication is selected, then click Create App.

Step 6: You should now be on the configuration page. Scroll down till you see App Access Level, and click on App + Enterprise access, then press Save Changes.

Step 7: Scroll down till you see Add and Manage Public Keys, then click Generate a Public/Private Keypair. If prompted, fill in the code sent to your email, and click on the generate button again. This should cause the download of a JSON file. We will need it later so keep it safe for now.

Step 8: Scroll some more till you see CORS Domains and put it in the full domain of your Zendesk instance, then click Save Changes. We will revisit this field later once our Zendesk app is done being set up.

Domain Usage https://.zendesk.com For the Zendesk client to make requests to the box API https://*.apps.zdusercontent.com For the app to make requests to the box API

Add these links in the CORS Domains box separated by commas.

Step 9: Switch over to the Authorization tab, and click the Review and Submit button. Enter a brief description then click Submit.

Step 10: Authorize the Box app. Depending on how Box is set up, this step may differ, but in our case, the Admin is the same user as the Dev. So go back to your account (by clicking Back To My Account, or by opening Box in a new tab) and open the Admin console.

Step 11: In the Admin Console, switch to the Apps section in the sidebar, and choose the Custom Apps Manager tab. You should see your app here. Click the three-dot menu next to it, and click Authorize. Review all the information and click Authorize in the popup.

Step 12: The JSON File we downloaded earlier will have the keys needed while installing the app, which are the Client ID, the Client Secret, and the Enterprise ID. Copy those values over while installing the app.
