[Editor’s note: Ahhhhh, the old days. This post is very much out of date. Visit Zendesk Chat for all the latest on live chat support]
Customers have queried us about chat features in Zendesk for providing “live support” services. It’s not an area we’re heading into, but we are going to demonstrate how such functionality can be integrated pretty easily using Zendesk widgets.
We have made a proof-of-concept integration to Campfire from 37Signals. Campfire is a clean cut web-based group chat service. It can be configured in a variety of ways, and there’s an API for hard core customers with very specific requirements. The integration demonstrated is pretty bare bones but transfers your help desk name to the chat room.
To demonstrate the functionality we have set up a Zendesk support chat room, that we will inhabit weekdays according to the plan below. Come join us for a live chat. The login button is located in the bottom right corner of the Zendesk support Home page.
